Budget Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda

Budget Gorilla Trekking

Budget gorilla trekking as you embark on a gorilla trekking adventure in Rwanda is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. However, the cost of such an adventure can be quite expensive, putting it out of reach for some travelers. Luckily, there’s a way to experience this incredible adventure without breaking the bank.

Each of the gorilla safari destinations has its own price tag on gorilla permits. The prices are variant and range from $450 to $1500 per permit. A gorilla permit in Congo costs only $450 – apparently the cheapest, $600 in Uganda all year round and $1500 each in Rwanda. The very first thing that budget gorilla trekkers should do is choose their destinations wisely. As you can see from the prices above, Rwanda has the highest tag on permits making it a luxury gorilla trekking destination. Congo and Uganda are just fine unless you prefer to strictly trek in Volcanoes National Park.

Budget gorilla trekking Uganda

Uganda safari tours apparently offer the best affordable gorilla trekking encounters among the three destinations. Half of the total population of mountain gorillas live in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You will have variety to choose from. Regarding accommodation, Bwindi has so many gorilla safari lodges that range from budget to luxury. You can not fail to get a comfortable budget facility to stay in while on your safari. Tourists often get discouraged because of the 9-hour drive from Entebbe to South Western Uganda reason why they prefer to have their experience in Rwanda. This shouldn’t freak you out because you can still make your entourage from Rwanda and spend only 4 hours accessing Bwindi. Alternatively, if you can spare a few bucks for a scheduled flight, it will save you a lot of time.

Budget Gorilla Trekking Rwanda

Despite being a high-end gorilla trekking country, you can track on a budget in Rwanda. Let alone the fee for permits, here it is possible to carry out treks that last for a day or two. The best way to minimize your expenditure in Rwanda is by opting for few days and staying in budget accommodation facilities. The only downside is, the $1500 permits fee for Rwanda can get you a fully booked three day budget gorilla safari in Uganda and leave you pocket change of approximately $250. The gorillas are the same and its only the environment that differs. In actual sense, there is nothing like cheap gorilla safaris in Rwanda.

Budget Gorilla Trekking Congo

Having a budget gorilla tour in DRC is taking the trend nowadays. Tourists travel to Rwanda and instead head to trek in Virunga and make their departure through Rwanda. Congo gorilla permits are the cheapest so far, going for as little as $450 each. When it comes to accommodation, you will have to compensate as Virunga National Park does have only high-end safari lodges that might cost you as much as $300 plus per night. Besides that, Congo is a very good destination for tourists who prefer cheap gorilla trekking.
