Detailed 7 Days Best of DRC Safari Tour
DAY 1: Arrival and transfer to Virunga National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you wi be welcomed by our company representative who will transfer you to congo, clearing at the border and arriving in Goma town, the drive takes approximately 4-5 hours having Enroute stopovers, the land scapes of Rwanda are magical and super exciting
DAY 2: Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, you will drive to Bukima park center for a morning briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla group, after which you will head into the dense forest in search of the brown eyed gentle species, trekking time depends on how far the gorilla families have moved, while with the mpuntain gorillas, you will be allowed one hour to take pictures, have beautiful views and return to the lodge for diner and stay overnight
DAY 3:Nyiragongo Hike
Following breakfast, we will embark on the Nyiragongo hike led by park rangers, you can hire a porter at the beging incase you feel the need for one, the path is easy although you will require physical fitness, the speed depends on the last person, nobody is left behind, along the trail, you will enjoy beautiful views of rare forest birds, and small mammal species, it will take 2-4 hours to reach the summit
DAY 4:Descend the summit – relaxation
Descending is much easier compared to climbing, after breakfast, you will head down the hill, arriving at the lodge for a hot lunch, and relaxation to prepare for the following day’s activities
DAY 5:Transfer to Bukavu
Following breakfast, you will begin your journey to the south of congo in Bukavu town, passing through small villages and towns of congo, you will enjoy the besutiful scenery of the southern part of the country.
DAY 6:Trekking Lowland Gorillas
You will be transferred to the park headquarters for the briefing before you can start the lowland gorilla trek. These gorillas are easy to find taking a shorter time like 3-4 hours, one hour is allowed with the mountain gorillas, after which you will return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation as we end the neautiful day in the democratic republic of congo.
DAY 7:Transfer to Kigali for departure
After an early morning breakfast, we will transfer to Kigali, having stopovers en-route for picture moments and enjoying the mountain landscape of the land of a thousand hills.This marks the end of your 7 Days Best of DRC Tour
