DAY 1: Arrival and Transfer to Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to do some birding around the hotel grounds or visit the nearby Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.
DAY 2 : Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, we will depart Entebbe and head towards Lake Mburo National Park. The journey will take us through the picturesque countryside of Uganda, with an opportunity for birding stops along the way. Upon arrival at Lake Mburo National Park, we will go for an afternoon birding session where we will look out for species such as the African Finfoot, Brown-chested Lapwing, and the Black-bellied Bustard.
DAY 3 : Lake Mburo National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
On day 3, we will have an early morning birding session at Lake Mburo National Park before heading to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to over 350 bird species. Along the way, we will make several birding stops, including at the Ruhija sector of the park, known for its unique bird species such as the African Green Broadbill, Handsome Francolin, and the White-headed Woodhoopoe.
DAY 4 : Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Day 4 is dedicated to exploring the birding trails of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The forest is home to some of Uganda’s rarest bird species, including the African Green Broadbill, Grauer’s Swamp Warbler, and the Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher. We will have a full day of birding, with a picnic lunch in the forest.
DAY 5 : Birding in Kibale Forest National Park and departure
After an early breakfast, we drive to Kibale Forest National Park, home to over 375 bird species, including the African grey parrot, black-billed turaco, and the blue-headed sunbird. Here, we’ll go on a guided nature walk through the forest, giving you a chance to spot some of the 13 primate species that call the forest home, including chimpanzees. In the afternoon, we’ll drive back to Entebbe for your departure flight.
