DAY 1:Arrival and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, our experienced guide will welcome you and provide a brief overview of your 3-day birding safari. We will then embark on a scenic drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, located in southwestern Rwanda. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful landscapes and rural countryside. Upon reaching the park, check-in at your lodge and relax in preparation for the exciting birding experiences ahead.

DAY 2 : Birding in Nyungwe Forest National Park

Wake up early and have a hearty breakfast before heading out for a full day of birding in Nyungwe Forest National Park. Equipped with binoculars and accompanied by our knowledgeable birding guide, explore the diverse habitats of the forest, including montane rainforest, bamboo zones, and swampy areas.

Nyungwe Forest is home to over 300 bird species, including several Albertine Rift endemics and rarities. Look out for bird species such as the Rwenzori turaco, great blue turaco, Ruwenzori batis, red-faced woodland warbler, and many more. Enjoy the serene atmosphere of the forest and the melodic calls of the birds as you immerse yourself in this birding paradise. Return to your lodge in the evening for a delicious dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Bird watching in RwandaDAY 3 : Canopy Walk and Departure

After breakfast, experience the unique Canopy Walk in Nyungwe Forest. This suspension bridge offers breathtaking views of the forest canopy and provides an opportunity to spot various bird species from an elevated perspective. Listen to the sounds of the forest and keep an eye out for birds such as hornbills, sunbirds, and forest-dwelling raptors. After the canopy walk, we will begin our journey back to Kigali.

Nyungwe Canopy WalkEnjoy a stopover at a local restaurant for lunch and arrive in Kigali in the late afternoon. Our guide will drop you off at your preferred location, marking the end of your unforgettable 3-day birding safari to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
